Michael Alan Webb was born October 1st, 1983 in Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota. Being born into a military family he moved around a lot and attend multiple elementary schools and middle schools. During his childhood Michael had the opportunity to observe several military working dog demonstrations on the bases where he lived. After seeing the first demonstration he become captivated with the way these dogs worked and knew that becoming a handler one day was a goal.

In June 2001 Michael graduated from Faith Baptist School in Belleville, Illinois and in October Michael joined the United States Air Force where he started his law enforcement carrier and pursuit of his K-9 Handler goals. Once assigned to his duty station of Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, Michael quickly sought out the working dog kennels on the base and began volunteering his time to assist in cleaning the kennels and training the dogs in any way he could.

In October 2007 Michael separated from the Air Force with an honorable discharge and continued his law enforcement career and K-9 handler pursuit with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee. Michael attended multiple K-9 training seminars to gain as much knowledge as he possible could in regards to not only working a dog but also how to train new dogs for the agency. In 2018 after many years of hard work and dedication Michael was selected to become a K-9 Handler for the WCSO. Michael worked a multi-purpose narcotics/patrol K-9 (K9 Mafia). During their time working together they were responsible for removing countless pounds of illegal narcotics from the streets of Washington County as well as multiple tracks and apprehensions of dangerous felons wanted by not only their agency but surrounding counties also. Before K9 Mafia’s retirement in September 2024 Michael and K9 Mafia received multiple certifications through NNDDA and NAPWDA. In 2024 Michael attended a K-9 supervision course through Custom Canine Unlimited.

In September of 2024 Michael was moved from the patrol division to the training division of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, was assigned the duties of not only training the officers of the agency but also supervising the K9 units training and logistics. During this time Michael also took over the agencies tracking/trailing Bloodhound (K9 Arlo). Michael and Arlo have recently obtained their level 2 expert Mantrailing certification through AMPWDA.
